Materials:
• key ring
• cord
• 3 beads
• scissors
NOTE: For this key chain, our cord is a bit thinner so we are going to double up on the cords that are making the knots for our project.
Measure and cut your cord:
• 2 pieces 92 cm (30 inches)
• 1 piece 60 cm (24 inches)
STEP 1:
Attach each cord to the key ring with a larks head knot.
NOTE: Be sure the short cord is the centre cord.
STEP 2:
Using the 2 cords on the left, and the 2 cords on the right, make a half square knot.
(photo below)
And pull it up fairly tight with the larks heads knots on the key ring.
(photo below)
STEP 3:
Complete the full square knot as shown in this photo, and pull it up fairly tight to the half square knot above.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to make a second square knot.
STEP 4:
Add the first bead.
(and admire your 2 square knots)
STEP 5:
Make 2 more square knots, and add the second bead.
STEP 6:
Make 2 more square knots, and add the last/third bead.
STEP 7:
Make 2 final square knots.
STEP 8:
Holding all of the ends of the cords, make an overhand knot.
STEP 9:
trim the ends to about 5 cm (2 inches).
