This is a self-contained weekend. There are compost toilets that are available for use. The water and hydro are turned off so any power tools must be gas. There will be both men and women at the work day. Youth are welcome to come too but are the parent’s responsibility during the event. You don’t have to be a member of Guiding to volunteer this day.
What to Bring/wear:
Good running shoes/steel toed shoes if you’re helping with laneway clearning.
Hat, waterbottle, lunch, sunblock, bugspray, Thick work gloves, long pants and shirts as there is poison ivy in some areas.
If you have to following tools we could use we would appreciate it: Chain saws, hand saws, large clippers, long tree branch trimmers, atv +trailer. Gas weed wackers to cut back the smaller shrubs.
To Do:
1. Cut back the remainder of the laneway
2. Cut, split and stack fire wood
3. Cut back shrubs in the wilderness campsite.
4. Work on cutting back the trails.
5. Take better pictures
Come anytime during the day and stay as long as you want. Any help is greatly appreciated.
